A few years ago, Harry Styles took the world by storm (one of many times) by wearing this patchwork knitted cardigan during a concert.

To be completely honest, I’m not particularly a fan of his, nothing against him I’m just too old school and barely ever listen to whatever music is popular at the moment. But this one was card to miss. Everyone was talking about it in the knitting community (and outside) Not only because of the colors and how interesting looking it was, but because of its handmade appeal, it send a message to lots of knitters out there: you could make this too.
The sweater was created by designer JW Anderson, who after all the popularity, released the pattern for free. You can download it here.
Like I said, I’m not a fan at all, but I have a friend who is a HUGE fan of Harry Styles, and she asked me to please make this sweater for her, for a commission. I don’t take up commissions very often, but since she is a close friend and the project was interesting enough, I rolled up my sleeves and got to work.
So how did the making of this sweater go? I was in for quite a ride it turns out. In the video below I go into detail about each part of this sweater, the pattern itself, and all the hiccups I ran into, as well as the final product. If you are interested in making your own, I recommend watching for a guide, it’s a big project but a very fun one!
